Sjögren's Syndrome

Sjögren's syndrome is a chronic inflammatory rheumatic disease. Inflamed are secretory glands, especially the tear and salivary glands (medical term: sialadenitis). The inflammation reduces the amount of secretion. Consequence: The mucous membranes dry out easily.

Ulcerative colitis

Ulcerative colitis affects the colon. The intestinal mucosa becomes inflamed, causing ulcers. This causes symptoms like bloody diarrhea and abdominal cramps

Mastocytosis and Mast Cell Disorders, Histamine Intolerance

The mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS) is common with the hypermobile EDS (HEDS) and is also encountered in complex with POTS. This condition is currently in the focus of some researchers, so we can hopefully soon clarify the context. Mast cell activation is not the same as mastocytosis. While mastocytosis is a disease in which mast cells in abnormal numbers multiply in different tissues, mast cell activation is the release of the mediators present in the mast cells. However, this often ends in the same symptoms. Read more about mast cell disorders at FellowPatient.com
